Privacy Policy

Our Principles

At SpreadTrends we believe that privacy is critical to your ongoing patronage of our service, the success of the SpreadTrends community, and to the overall vibrancy of the Internet. For these reasons, SpreadTrends adheres to the following privacy principles. These principles cover how SpreadTrends treats personal information about you that SpreadTrends collects and receives, including information related o your use of SpreadTrends products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available. These principles do not apply to the practices of companies that SpreadTrends does not own or control, or to people that SpreadTrends does not directly employ or manage.

Privacy Principle #1

SpreadTrends takes the protection of your privacy very seriously.SpreadTrends will keep all of the personal information that you provided during the registration process private and confidential (except as specified below.) SpreadTrends may use information that uniquely identifies you to improve your SpreadTrends experience. For example, your zip code may be used to provide you with geographically specific weather information. SpreadTrends may reference your name and business relationship with SpreadTrends in marketing materials used by SpreadTrends. In addition, SpreadTrends may record your interactions with the SpreadTrends service in order to improve the quality of the service. All your personally identifiable information except for your name is strictly between you and SpreadTrends.

Privacy Principle #2

We use your personal information only for "group" demographic statistics. SpreadTrends will not disclose your individual personal information, meaning your mailing address, e-mail address, or phone number, to anyone unless acting under a good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

1. Conform to legal requirements imposed on SpreadTrends or to comply with a legal process;
2. Protect and defend SpreadTrends rights or property; or
3. Enforce the SpreadTrends Terms of Service.

SpreadTrends may collect IP address data when you visit web pages on the SpreadTrends.com web site. An IP address is a number associated with the service through which you access the Internet, like your ISP (Internet service provider), your company, or your university. Standing alone, your IP address is not personally identifiable. At times, we also use IP addresses for purposes of system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers and sponsors, for example regarding the frequency with which our guests visit various parts of SpreadTrends.com. SpreadTrends may combine information about you that we obtain directly with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.

Privacy Principle #3

SpreadTrends will not disclose the contents of any of your private communications unless acting under a good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

1. Conform to legal requirements imposed on SpreadTrends or to comply with a legal process;
2. Protect and defend SpreadTrends rights or property;
3. Act under apparently exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of you, our other subscribers or the general public.

However, SpreadTrends may monitor, record, copy and utilize some of your communications to assist us and our partners in testing and perfecting some technical aspects of the service. For example, we might use your communications, or enable our service providers or technology vendors to use your communications, to help us test the service's ability to (1) send and receive messages; (2) conform to connecting networks' technical requirements; (3) conform to the limitations of the service; or (4) conform to other similar requirements. If we do use your communications in this manner, it will be to help us with the operation and improvement of our service.

Privacy Principle #4

As a Subscriber, you are automatically signed up to receive e-mail messages from us containing content and service updates and other matters of interest. Your e-mail address is strictly confidential and SpreadTrends will not disclose or share it with any third parties, except as specified above. You may choose to discontinue this e-mail service at any time by visiting the registration page on our web site or by using your e-mail received.

Privacy Principle #5

SpreadTrends displays targeted advertisements based on personal information. Advertisers (including ad serving companies) may assume that people who interact with, view, or click on targeted ads meet the targeting criteria (for example, men aged 35-44 from a particular geographic area). SpreadTrends does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.

Privacy Principle #6

SpreadTrends may use "cookies" to store and occasionally track information on our web site, thus enabling us to provide you with customizable and personalized services. For example, we may use this information to remember your location and preferences for filtering. A cookie is no more than a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive.

Privacy Principle #7

At SpreadTrends you control your own personal information. You can alter your personal information at any time through our web site at http://www.SpreadTrends.com/. You can also alter your Password or Account Name at any time through our web site at http://www.SpreadTrends.com/. Additionally, you may cancel your registration for the service at any time or request the removal of your personal information from our member records via the by sending an e-mail to support [at] SpreadTrends.com. Thereafter, residual information may remain in our archives and records, but this information will not be used for any commercial purpose. Also, SpreadTrends reserves the right to maintain information on registered members who have violated our Terms of Service.

Privacy Principle #8

SpreadTrends is committed to Subscriber service and support. If at any time you believe that SpreadTrends is not adhering to these Privacy Principles, or if you have questions about this policy, please notify us via e-mail as soon as possible at privacy [at] SpreadTrends.com. We will make all reasonable efforts to promptly respond to your inquiry.

Privacy Principle #9

SpreadTrends may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your SpreadTrends account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
